Application requirements

BSc degree in Engineering for MSc applications, BSc and MSc degrees in Engineering for PhD applications. Until the admission period, applicants must complete their undergraduate degree programs for an MSc admission and graduate degree programs for a PhD admission.
BSc GPA of at least 2.50/4.00 (or equivalent) for MSc applications, MSc GPA of at least 3.15/4.00 (or equivalent) for PhD applications.
LES/ALES "sayisal" score of at least 75 or quantitative GRE score of at least 610; quantitative GRE score of at least 610 for foreign applicants. Note that LES/ALES and GRE scores are valid for two years.
Proficiency in English. TOEFL (computer-based minimum 213, TWE: minimum 4.5 or paper-based minimum 550, TWE: minimum 4.5 or IBT Test: 79, TWE: 24) or IELTS of minimum 7.0 or Bogazici University English Proficiency Test (BUEPT) of minimum 60 is required. Applicants who do not satisfy the English requirements above but have an intermediate level of English in BUEPT are qualified to study at Bogazici University School of Foreign Languages (YADYOK) for one year provided that they are accepted to the graduate program by the department. Applicants with "beginner" level English are not qualified for study at YADYOK. Note, however, that the YADYOK quotas for graduate students are very limited (6 for MSc students, 2 for PhD students). It is therefore highly recommended that you try to certify your proficiency in English.

Additional requirements for PhD applicants

In addition to the English proficiency requirements listed above, PhD applicants also need to achieve a minimum UDS score of 55 or equivalent (̈UDS:55 is equivalent to KPDS:55, TOEFL IBT 66, or TOEFL CBT 184-186).
PhD applicants should contact the faculty members who work in the area the candidate wants to specialize in and take the approval of one of the faculty members to support the candidate throughout his/her study in the Ph.D. program. This process should be finished before the candidates are called for an interview.
